Staigue Fort House Bar is warm and welcoming. A toasty fire is always on the go.

Beautiful Guinness and Murphy’s stout on tap…and, well, everything else.

You are welcome to join in the chat at the bar. It is very sociable and a good opportunity to hear the latest on sightings of wildlife like the sea eagles which soar in the hills above the house.

The TV is normally off. Its discreet flat screen gets switched on for the big matches and other major events on sky sports.

The whole building has wifi.

There is a nice little spot around the corner from the bar area where musicians gather to play traditional Irish music.

After a long day’s hike, sit by the fire and order drinks from the hatch while warming your feet.

Or if you fancy going outside, there is plenty of seating at tables outside by the meadow and on the sheltered terrace.
